Great Toy LEGO Star Wars 9496 Desert Skiff

I purchased this along with Jabba's Palace and it is a great piece. Very easy to put together and functional. My 2 year-old son loves it already. He loaded up the Skiff with all the mini-figures and has enjoyed playing with it. My son is pretty gentle with the Lego figures and sets and this is pretty durable for him. He spent the morning 'flying' the Skiff around the living room and there no breaks in the set.

 I like it because the mini-figures are really well done. Boba Fett is great and Lando and his mask are really detailed and well thought out. My son loves putting the mini-figures in the Sarlacc Pit and opening in closing the mouth. This is good hand-eye coordination for him and even this simple task is really fun for him.

 I paid $24.99 for the set and would probably think twice about paying $39.99. I was told these sets will be around for awhile so wait for the price to go down.

With the Lego Star Wars Desert Skiff set you can recreate one of the most iconic scenes in the original (and let's face it, best) Star Wars Trilogy. This set features the Desert Skiff vehicle, the head of the Sarlacc monster (the Special Edition version) and four minifigures - Luke Skywalker in Jedi Knight garb, Lando Calrissian in Skiff Guard disguise, a random Skiff Guard and one of the coolest Boba Fett figures you'll ever see.

Complexity: With just 213 pieces, this is a pretty simple build. Depending on the age of the builder, you can expect to spend 20-40 minutes assembling everything.

Playability: The sky is the limit with this. The Skiff has some neat moving parts, including a secret stash of guns and a retractable plank, and the Sarlacc's mouth can be opened and closed (and fits a minifigure). The real highlight of this set is the minifigures. Luke and Lando are great additions to any collection, and the Boba Fett - with his long gun, helmet with antenna and little cape - is just amazing.

This is one of the best (and at this time most affordable) Lego Star Wars sets on the market. You get a good value for the money and it makes a great gift too.
